Readings, story-writing workshops, and virtual visits for October and fall. Tell us your grades, date, and budget, and we send your request to authors who do school visits.
Pick the one that fits your schedule. Put it in the notes on your request.

Students build a 1-page ghost story: setting, suspense, twist. Grades 3–8, one class at a time.
Same talk over video. It costs less, needs no travel, and is easy to fit into October’s calendar.
A family evening with a reading, costume parade, and signed books for the library’s collection.
School or library, city, grades, preferred date, in-person or virtual, and budget.
Your request goes to authors who list school visits, serve your area or do virtual, and whose fee fits your budget.
Authors email you directly to confirm the date, format, and fee. No agency in the middle.
It doesn’t have to be. Ask for “spooky, not scary”: picture-book and middle-grade authors pitch their talks by grade. Tell us your grade levels on the request and we match accordingly.
As early as you can. Late-October dates fill first. A virtual visit or an early-November “fall” visit is the easy fallback.
It depends on the author, the format, and travel. Virtual visits usually cost the least. Put your budget on the request and we only send it to authors whose listed fee fits.
